Awyr Las / Blue Sky, the NHS charity for North Wales are very excited to be Wakestock’s 2014 Charity of the Year for the second year running!
This year we are partnering with British Heart Foundation Cymru to work together on the festival site.
We would like to extend an invitation to volunteers who would like to come along to champion and fundraise for a specific health related cause to enhance facilities and services specifically available to cardiac patients across North Wales. Fundraising generated through Awyr Las will support Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Cardiac Rehabilitation team to enhance facilities to aid recovery and to build patients' confidence specifically within the Llyn community.
We’re looking for people who are passionate about making a difference for better healthcare in North Wales. Your role onsite as a festival volunteer will be to take the message of our charity out to the crowds and join in with some fundraising activities with us. You’ll be talking to festival-goers all over various sites and encouraging them to take part in creative and fun activities. We need people who are enthusiastic, who have experience of communicating with others and who will brave any weather condition to get out there and engage with festival-goers.
What can I help with?
There are variety of roles you can get involved with, some of which include the below:
- Informing festival goers that there is a local NHS charity and health charity (Awyr Las/BHF) onsite fundraising for cardiac services for local hospitals.
- Signposting festival goers to the charity tent.
- Face painting
- Hair Braids
- Penalty shootout
- Olympics competitions on the beach
- Leaflet distribution
- Car sticker distribution
- Collection Tins
- Collecting contact details
- Being a cheerful charity advocate onsite
We have a limited amount of free volunteering tickets available so we will be treating applications on a first come first serve basis.
We hope you can join us at what promises to be a fantastic summer weekend of music and activities.
Please contact Cath.Humes@wales.nhs.uk if you are interested in volunteering.
