Endoscopy Unit Staff Go The Extra Mile
Thursday 17th March 2016

STAFF on Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Endoscopy Unit are going the extra mile for the patients in their care by organising a charity auction night.

The event on April 22nd at the Victoria Hotel, Menai Bridge, will raise vital funds for the Endoscopy Unit and Alaw Cancer Treatment Unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Endoscopy Unit Nurse Sandra Ewing said:

“Some of our staff have family members who have benefitted from the wonderful care given on the Endoscopy Unit and on Alaw, so it’s something that we all wanted to get behind.”

“Many of our patients’ journeys with cancer will begin with a diagnosis from my colleagues on the Endoscopy Unit, and we know that they will go on to receive fantastic care and treatment on the Alaw Unit.”

“As frontline staff we are acutely aware that we can only do so much through our NHS budgets. Donations to the Endoscopy Unit and Alaw Unit through Awyr Las make a real difference for our patients by funding new equipment and extra patient comforts.”

The charity auction will feature items generously donated by leading North Wales businesses, as well as sports memorabilia from Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham football clubs.

Heart FM’s Kev Bach will compere the evening, while local band Myf Kev & Dave will also perform.

Tickets cost £10, which includes a buffet. They are available by calling the Endoscopy Unit on 01248 384393
