Ysbyty Glan Clwyd based Senior Physiotherapist Hilary Roderick is May's Awyr Las Healthcare Hero.
Hilary will go above and beyond the call of duty next month as she takes on an epic 933 mile charity cycling challenge from Lands End to John O'Groats. All the money she raises will be used to purchase an elliptical cross trainer for the hospital's Physiotherapy Department.
"I want the patients we work with to benefit from the very best equipment, but the NHS can't always support these added extras" explained Hilary.
"The elliptical is a total body cross trainer that provides non impact exercise for individuals of all fitness levels and ages. It will benefit a great number of patients."
Hilary will begin the titanic trek on the 14th June at Lands End in Cornwall, and will cycle over 100 punishing miles each day before finishing at John O'Groats in North East Scotland nine days later.

**What are healthcare heroes?**
Every month we'll be shining a spotlight on some of the unsung healthcare heroes that not only dedicate their working lives to the NHS in North Wales, but go the extra mile to ensure their patients benefit from the added extras by fundraising through their NHS charity, Awyr Las.
